After news circulated around the web yesterday that Angelina Jolie would be starring in a Bosnian war-set drama, production company GK Films quietly blogged some interesting details most of us missed: the film will be mark the feature directorial by Jolie, who is also writing the project, but she won’t be starring in it.

The project is officially described as “a love story set during the Bosnian war, the film focuses on a Serbian man and a Bosnian woman who meet on the eve of the war and the effect the war has on their relationship.” As if all this wasn’t ambitious enough, Jolie is forgoing name actors and utilizing a cast “solely compromised [sic] of various ethnicities from the region of the former Yugoslavia.”
